The Westborough SPED PAC
proudly presents the fifth annual:

Wind Beneath Their Wings Awards

Show someone who has made a difference in your child's life how important he or she is.

We will honor your designated person with the Wind Beneath Their Wings Award. This is a very poignant way to show appreciation and pay tribute to those individuals who go above and beyond for our children. Each nominee will be recognized with a commemorative gift and certificate.

Any parent of a child with special needs living in Westborough is encouraged to submit a nomination.

Deadline for entries: May 29, 2009

...can be found on our Information page.

The Sarah Ward slides and handouts are now available!
The handouts for Sarah Ward's presentation on organization and executive function skills (which were not available at the presentation on December 11) can now be downloaded from our information page.

Special Education Procedural Manual

The new Special Education Procedural Manual has been added to the Westborough Public Schools website. Choose "Special Ed Procedural Manual" under "District Information".  The manual is a wealth of information about the procedures for special education in our town.  It is a live document and will be amended as changes occur.

Please take a moment to check out this invaluable resource!!!

Special Education Parent Advisory Council

OUR MISSION
to work towards the
understanding of,
respect for,
support of, and
appropriate education
for children with special needs.

Massachusetts state law requires each school district to create a district-wide parent advisory council (PAC) offering memberships to all parents and guardians of students receiving special services and other interested parties.

The PAC's duties include advising the district on matters that pertain to the education and safety of children with disabilities. The PAC shall also meet regularly with school officials to participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the school district's special education programs.
