My Role in the Schools I am the Instructional Technology Specialist for both Gibbons Middle School and Westborough High School in Westborough, MA. I am available to help teachers both prepare and present lessons incorporating technology. Some example activities I may provide support for include:
If you are interested in working on a lesson together, brushing up on your technology skills, or even talking about the newest technologies available, don't hestitate to visit me in the Guidance Suite (Gibbons) or in A218 (High School) or send me an email. My Technology Background
I think it is safe to say that I am a member of one of the first generations to grow up having access to computers in the home. My first computer was one of the original Texas Instruments home computers, the TI99/4. Rather than just saying I've been using technology since I was very young, this picture provides visual proof. Some of my favorite programs growing up included "Oregon Trail," "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego," "Number Munchers," and "Logo". Since my first experiences with technology I've gone through a wide range of Apple Computer products and many digital video and still cameras with over 1,000 gigs of external media storage at home to hold all my files (over 15,000 photographs, but who's counting.) While getting my undergradate degree in Education I was thrilled to discover entire masters programs devoted to education AND technology. Right after graduating I went straight into graduate school to receive my masters in Instructional Media & Technology. My Non-Technology Background
